Untitled Monoprint (A Derelict House)
Joseph Solman was fascinated with city life, giving rise to his famous subway paintings. In the 1960s he became fascinated with the tar carts that were seen across the city. A burner kept the tar molten and available for roof sealing, macadam road repair, and numerous other purposes.
