Description
Charles Émile Jacque was a master of light and shadow, and A Rustic Stair is widely considered to be among his masterworks.
The plate was made in 1845, as marked in the plate. This print was from the famous and very scarce “Etching and Etchers” portfolio published in 1880 by Philip Gilbert Hamerton.
