Smile of Gilda

$900.00

Description

French artist Max Papart was famous for cubist depiction of fun and happy subjects, like circuses, birds, ballet, people. But his images are far more than meets the eye at first glance. They captivate and demand examination—particularly his emphatically cubist works filled with high contrast and textured surfaces that are often paired with strong composition and color.

This carborundum etching is a beautiful layering of colors and textures, depicting a collage of various geometric cutouts, all various sizes and each with a different pattern, which has a palette comprised of yellow, light blue, red, brown, green, and black hues.
