Alexander Street

$4,000.00

Description

This work highlights Sir Howard Hodgkin’s trademark broad, gestural brushstrokes, vivid palette, and use of contrasting colors to create an engaging and attractive work.

This work is a special hybrid between a lithograph and a painting. First, it was printed from three zinc plates, one with emerald green ink, one with red-brown ink, and one with grey ink. The master printers, Alan Cox and Don Bessant at Sky Editions in London, then added yellow watercolor and red gouache. Thus, each of the 90 prints is different from the others, each has its own personality.
