Mario Avati’s striking image of a black violin. Made from two copper plates, one for black and one for color. This example is from the sixth state, printed in an edition of 85 copies plus 16 artist’s proofs and one proof retained by the artist. (The seventh and final state was printed for the deluxe edition of Avati’s catalogue raisonné.)
