Diamond Chroma Red

$1,275.00

Description

This work showcases Richard Anuszkiewicz’s focus on optics and color.

The red and green are arresting; the blue in the background fades away from view until it is noticed. Among Anuszkiewicz’s best work, and not coincidentally evocative of the work of his teacher, Josef Albers, this picture was included in the lauded portfolio “New York Ten”, which also contained works by Jim Dine, Frankenthaler, Krushenick, Lichtenstein, Oldenburg, and others.

Adding to the specialness of this work is that it is framed in a hand-made aluminum frame with forged, seamless corners by the famed framemaker and artist Robert Kulicke. (The dust panel covering the back has been opened up to show Kulicke’s frameshop label.)  The original glass has been replaced with 99% UV-filtering art glass and a sheet of buffered acid-free paper placed behind the work.
