The German artist and illustrator Meta Pluckebaum is best known for her sensitive, fine drypoint etchings of cats (as well as dogs and other animals). She was a serious artist, well-trained, despite the humor and appeal of her works. She studied with the artist Hermann Pohle, as well as with her own husband Karl Plückebaum.
