Albrecht Dürer

Albrecht Dürer was a German painter, printmaker, and theorist of the German Renaissance.  He was a highly-skilled maker of woodcut prints but worked primarily in engraving.

His work is found in major museums across the globe, including, in the United States, the Metropolitan Museum of Art and the National Gallery of Art. and the Yale University Art Gallery.
